Our story

A father, a market stall, and a lot of Bond films

The business was started by the current owner's father — by his own account, a big James Bond fan, who ran the shop from the middle of Chapel Market for years before his son took over the counter.

It's still there today, opposite Baron Street, doing the same four jobs it always did: cutting keys, mending shoes, cleaning clothes, taking in alterations — plus a coffee if you're passing.

How can Bond wear linen and it still looks pristine? How can he pick locks in seconds? I got my answer once I started working with my father in the family business. — the owner, in his own words
